THE TOUR EXPERIENCE PHYSIOS & TRAINERS

Ian Dingwall

BSC DC ICSSD CCEP

For the last 10 years I have worked on the European tour as well as covering major tournaments on the PGA tour. I have almost 30 years of experience in treating patients after graduating from a 4 year full time course at the  Anglo European College of Chiropractic, in 1990.

I have always enjoyed sport and whilst currently residing on the slightly sunnier coast of Scotland, in Fife it has allowed me to work on my handicap of 6 at Leven Thistle golf club.

My interest has always been in body functional control and although spinal mechanics is an important aspect to me I am very interested in all other causes and treatment options that could be given to help people gain greater health. Over my years of being a chiropractor I have worked with a variety of consultants in hospital settings, as well as liaising with physiotherapists, podiatrists and dentists (for occlusion and TMJ issues). I used to run a clinic in Glasgow for many years but due to time pressures in working on the tour for over 26 weekly events per year,  I am not involved in any clinic at present.

IN GOLF

I specialise in professional golf and have been fortunate enough to be introduced and worked with many of the top players who have won majors, and multiple tournament winners  on the European tour over the last 10 years, as well as many of the coaches on tour. I incorporate many aspects into my assessment and treatment options for golfers. Having attained the highest level from the Titleist performance Institute, I use this, as well as my years of experience to form a whole picture.  As many golfers have different swings and body mechanics , I have found that to get the most effective and best end product  before starting any treatment or exercise programme, I need to speak to the golfers swing coach after assessing the client to gain information of where they are physically and to assess what the direction is taken by the coach and discuss any physical restrictions that may reduce their effectiveness in gaining swing improvements.
